Psalm 28:8-9
The Lord is their strength. He is a stronghold of salvation for his anointed king. Save your people, and bless the people that belong to you. Shepherd them, and carry them forever.
Dear Lord Jesus,
You are our Good Shepherd in all that you do for us. Daily you take care of our every need. Let me look to you today as I navigate what today has in store for me; only through you do I get the strength that I need to deal with today’s challenges; all my help comes from you. When we suffer, we have to turn to you for our help, but we have to remember you will only allow so much to happen to us. So what seems to be out of control is really in your hands. You do not bring evil, nor did you author evil, but you limit it. Because we live in a sin-filled world of evilness that is all around us, wanting to attack us and drag us down to the depths of hell, you establish its limitation. Also, you work it out for the believer’s good, it forces us to come to you, our shepherd, so we have to depend on you in those times of trouble. During those times, you carry us. On the cross, you have lifted the burden of sin from us; we belong to you because the sins that separated us from you, you have removed forever. Thank you for being our shepherd; thank you for caring and protecting us; thank you for limiting the evil that comes our way. Amen.
