Psalm 32:1-2

How blessed is the person whose rebellion is forgiven, whose sin is covered. How blessed is the person whose guilt the Lord does not charge against him, in whose spirit there is no deceit.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We are blessed! Thank you for forgiving our rebellion—our sins. On our own, there is nothing we can do with our baggage of sin, this mountain of sin each of us drags. We cannot work our way out of them, nor comparing our pile of sins to someone else’s doesn’t remove them or make them any better. Each of those sins is deserving of eternal death and should separate us from you forever. But we are blessed because Jesus died and has forgiven us for all those sins. His blood has covered that mountain of sin; we have been restored to you. We have been credited with Jesus’ perfection; therefore, you see no deceit in us. We are blessed that you have taken us from where we were and what we deserved and have restored us to fellowship with you. Then you sent us your Spirit to create faith in us to believe in your saving work and trust the joy you have given us. Through this same faith, we receive this forgiveness and know that your word is true. We are indeed blessed. Amen.

When you consider the immensity of your sins covered by the blood of Christ and what was at stake because of those sins, you only begin to realize the love God has for you.
