Galatians 1:3-5

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. He gave himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father—to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your grace and peace. We are entirely undeserving of the love that you show to us. Lord, I often take your love for granted that this morning will just happen; I will get my coffee and breakfast like every morning, and I go about my day as usual. But, as I step out into the world, stories break on the tv, or radio of last night’s and yesterday’s events; I realize we are like Paul; we live in an evil age. Help me stop and reflect on what you saved me from; that was an eternity in hell. I am no better than those I hear about on the news. But you sent me your Son to save me from my wretched condition. He died for my sins, so while I am of the world, I no longer have to be part of the world. Lord, your love is a beautiful blessing for me. It is truly undeserved! While I am still a sinner and have tendencies to migrate toward my sinful thoughts, Lord, you already gave yourself to forgive these sins as well. Like Paul, we give you glory for all the great things you have done for us. Amen.

Because God has seen fit to redeem you—buy you back from your sin—you are redeemed. Nothing good in us sets us apart from the world but God’s will to love you.
