Psalm 34:1-3
I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise will always be in my mouth. In the Lord, my soul will boast. The humble will hear and rejoice. Proclaim the greatness of the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
There is nothing that I do before you in which I should brag. In fact, you remind me that all my actions are but filthy rags. Please keep me humble in my efforts as I journey through this life. Thank you for reminding me through your word that everything that I have comes from you, and you bring it just at the right moment. We are so bad at giving you thanks for all the things that you do for us, the way you provide for our daily needs, and, more importantly, the way you cared for our spiritual needs. Please accept my thank you today. For Jesus’ sake—his life and death—should give us reason to continuously thank you, to shout our praise for you from the rooftops. Forgive me when I am not all that grateful for what you have done and do not realize the immense payment Jesus made for my sins. Give me a grateful heart of love to desire to share this with everyone I meet today. Amen.
