Revelation 1:8

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, the one who is, and who was, and who is coming, the Almighty.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Your word brings us comfort today. As we see the challenges of how sin plagues the world around us, only you can give us comfort. At first glance, the world may seem as though evil is gaining the upper hand. Lord, we know this simply is not true. When we step away from the news and plug into you, your love is still all around us; you are far superior to any of these issues. You are the first and the last; nothing can overcome your love for us. Help all believers unplug from the world and come to you. Your words the Apostle John recorded reminds us of who you are. Before you began time, you were here, and when you finally end time, you will still be here. It was your will and purpose to create this world and to create us to be with you. This is why you sent your Son to rescue us from all our sins so that we can be with you in heaven. Our sins separated us from you, but you sent Jesus to this earth out of your love. He took all our sins to the cross with him. Lord, thank you for being our God who is more superior than this world and all its misdeeds. Thank you for sending your Son to deliver us from this world. Be with us, Lord, in these days that seem so turbulent, give believers a calm that can only come from you. We pray with your Son, “your kingdom come!” May you come quickly to save your people. A word of warning for the world: you are coming. Amen.

When everything seems to be spiraling out of control, know this, God is greater than anything happening outside of you. With His Spirit in you, there is nothing that will overcome you.
