1 Timothy 2:1-4

First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all those who are in authority, in order that we might live a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Dear Heavenly Father,

With all that is happening in our country and worldwide, we come to you today and ask for peace. Lord, you are the only one that can calm the challenges we face. We pray for honest, upright leaders who will govern our country according to your goodwill and purpose. We pray for your restoration of order so that your word may go out to all people who have not heard your truth. Lord, you have demonstrated throughout centuries, even in times of the church’s persecution, that you continue to spread your gospel message throughout the world. Lord, we pray for peace. That peace which only comes through you, the peace of forgiveness, that Jesus won for us on the cross. Send your Spirit to be with us that we may sow seeds of faith that in this all those we come in contact with may hear the gospel message and also come to faith. Amen
