Proverbs 16:9
A person’s heart plans his way, but the Lord makes his steps secure.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this reminder that you have given us the freedom to make our own decision about what we would like to do. We have the freedom to make plans, to decide what we will do in our lives and where we will do from day to day. You watch over those plans we make; some you allow to be blessed while others you may use to change the course of our lives. You have given us free will to make our own courses of action and do what we need to do; we were not created to be like robots that automatically serve you. Our plans can be corrupted by the Devil, world, and flesh, all of which entice us to do wrong and sin against you. As I consider my ideas for today, please let me serve you out of love for what you have done for me because you sent your Son. Jesus took all my sins into himself so that he would restore me to your glory. Guide my plans today so that I honor you out of the fruits of my faith. Lord, you know the ideas I have made for today and this week; I pray that you will keep your promise to make my steps secure. Do not let any of my plans take me from your love. If they should, please frustrate those plans and redirect me on a new path towards you. Amen.
