Isaiah 40:31

But those who wait for the Lord will receive new strength. They will lift up their wings and soar like eagles. They will run and not become weary. They will walk and not become tired.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please renew our strength today. All our sins through our thoughts, words, and actions weigh our consciouses down. We all feel the guilt of the sins we commit like a heavy backpack hindering us, feeling unable to even stand under a load of our sin and guilt. We can try to ignore it, but it is still there. Lord, thank you for giving believers—those who wait for you—a new strength. It is nothing we have done; instead, it is all on your Son. He came to us to become like us. He lived a life of perfection then gave us credit for his life. Then he suffered the separation from you and died on the cross for all our sins. There, taking that heavy load of sin off us and bringing it into himself. It’s gone because of what Jesus has done; we receive this free gift through the faith the Spirit began in us through the word and sacraments. He delivered to us the forgiveness of all our sins and removing our guilt. They are gone. We can now fly with the peace of forgiveness, run and not become weary with the hope of eternal life; walk and not become tired because salvation is ours through your love. Thank you for removing our heavy load. Amen.

Forgiveness is the key to life. It removes the guilt that regularly weighs you down. Christ has forgiven us, so forgive one another.
