2 Peter 1:19-21
We also have the completely reliable prophetic word. You do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the Morning Star rises in your hearts, since we know this above all else: No prophecy of Scripture comes about from someone’s own interpretation. In fact, no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were being carried along by the Holy Spirit.
Dear Heavenly Father,
You have given us your word like the sun rising upon a new day. Without you, we are in the darkness of sin, and there, there is no peace or comfort. However, you have given us your word, and through it, you have given us the light that brings us hope. Your holy writers wrote your words not because of their own desires but because your Spirit guided them along. They recorded your law, which is your will for us, telling us how to love you and others. You also recorded the work of Jesus. You sent him to live among us; he lived the perfect life for us, then died on the cross for all our sins. Through your holy words that we receive the faith, we thank you for giving us the gift of your word and the relief from our guilt and sins that comes through it. Thank you for carrying your prophecy by the Holy Spirit. Amen.

For the biblical writers, if they were writing of their own desires, would they have included all their blunders?
