Psalm 34:18-19

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those whose spirits have been crushed. Many are the troubles of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

Dear Heavenly Father,

You know the pain we go through, the challenges, disappointments, sicknesses, and temptations that happen in our lives. There is a constant battle that daily rages against your believers, trying to crush us. Those who have been made right with you, Satan wants to destroy us by wearing us down, so we would reject you. He is assaulting us with everything he can.

Lord, you protect us and limit the troubles that come our way. However, we do ask the question: “Why is this happening to me?” Like the disciples asked Jesus about the blind man. “Who sinned the man or his parents?” Jesus answered, “Nether but so the works of God might be displayed in him.” You know what exactly we can handle, and while the Devil intends these disruptions for evil, they accomplish your purpose of making us depend on you. Lord, you demonstrated your love by sending your Son to us. He took all our sins away when he was nailed to the cross. We are delivered through faith over to you; then Jesus has given us his righteousness in exchange for our unworthiness. Now, you see us through all the challenges we face, and we may not be able to overcome some of them in this life. However, it is through faith in your Son you deliver us from all our sins and troubles over to you. There will be no more temptations, trials, or problems in heaven; only peace, hope, joy, and eternal life. That is our salvation! Thank you for sustaining us in this life, limiting what comes our way, and being close to us. We are not alone. Amen.

God is so close to you he already knows your every thought before you ask, but we still ask for his help because he has told us to do that.
