2 Corinthians 5:14-15

For the love of Christ compels us, because we came to this conclusion: One died for all; therefore, all died. And he died for all, so that those who live would no longer live for themselves but for him, who died in their place and was raised again.

Dear Lord Jesus,

It is all because of your love that believers do what they do. If we were left on our own without Christ’s death, nothing in us would cause us to love you or another person. Our sinfulness causes this desire inside of us to only serve ourselves, but when your love is added, everything changes. It is because of what you did that lives are forever changed. You were the one that died for all. Your death paid the penalty of the sins, and sin is what separated us from you. You nailed all our sins to that cross when you went to the cross, and we also died to sin. When we realize what you have given us through your innocent death, it is this love you have for us that compels us to love you and others. Just as you died and were raised, our spirit was also raised from death to life. Through faith, we receive this gift of life that comes to us through the Holy Spirit. As Paul said to the Corinthian church, we no longer live for ourselves, but we live for Christ. We love others by sharing the promise of what you have done for all—giving them the hope of salvation and the promise of eternal life. Strengthen our faith giving us the confidence to go out as your ambassadors, faithfully sharing the peace of forgiveness with others. Amen.

Christ died for all, which means he also died for you. He has already removed your sins; therefore, you can also let go of any guilt. Forgiveness is already yours. It is delivered to you by the Holy Spirit through faith.
