Psalm 103:11-12

Yes, as high as the heavens are above the earth, so powerful is his mercy toward those who fear him. As distant as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our rebellious acts from us.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for this Psalm; no matter how many times we read it, it illustrates the vastness of your love for us fallen creatures. You made us, and you breathed your Spirit into us. Even though we broke your creation by bringing sin into it, you still love us. We get to see the might of your mercy despite our corruption. You sent your Son to take the punishment for all the evil things we think, say, and do; Jesus suffered on the cross for everything we have done. That was our punishment, but because he took all our sins into himself, you punished him in our place. Jesus has declared us not guilty of all our sins. Because he has removed sin from us, we have been restored to you and have new life. Forgiveness and salvation are for all who believe that you have forgiven them, ours through faith in Jesus. Give us the courage and strength to share the message of forgiveness with others who have not heard, that they, too, may listen to your promise and believe. Amen.

What an incredible illustration of God’s love for you: “Yes, as high as the heavens are above the earth, so powerful his mercy towards those who fear him.” if God’s love could be measured, it would make parsec and light-year measurements seem microscopic.
