Luke 21:25-28

“There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And on the earth nations will be in anguish, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the surging waves, people fainting from fear and expectation of the things coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these things begin to happen, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.”

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for giving us your sure hope. That when the end comes, there will be no reason to be afraid. Today’s world seems to be in chaos with political turmoil and unrest across the globe; many observe these happenings and say judgment day is close. Lord, only you know when the end will come. Strengthen your people not to fear what is happening around us; instead, remember that you will sustain and keep us. When the signs of heaven begin, we will be prepared in anticipation of the second coming of Jesus.

We can be prepared because Jesus came, then he died on that cross to remove the sins that separated us from you so that we would have salvation. Then he rose victoriously from the grave so we too can be confident of our resurrection. Those who believe in Jesus will have their names written in the book of life, and salvation is theirs. Send your Spirit to be with us to prepare and strengthen our faith for Christ’s second coming. May we always look at his second coming with great anticipation and excitement for the end where we will be resurrected with you, the Son, and the Holy Spirit into eternity. We pray with David: “Come quickly to save me, O, Lord!” Amen.

We need to always be ready like the wise virgins to walk into the wedding feast. It is through Jesus we have our redemption, and by faith, we believe it.
