Jeremiah 33:14-16

Listen, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will fulfill the good promises that I have spoken to the house of Israel and concerning the house of Judah. In those days and at that time, I will cause a righteous Branch to grow up from David’s line. He will establish justice and righteousness on earth. In those days, Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely. This is what she will be called: The Lord Our Righteousness.

Dear Heavenly Father,

You had promised through the Old Testament prophets that you would send the Messiah, the Christ, to your people; he would come a part of the Davidic line. Did anyone suspect you would send your Son? He came to this earth as our brother and perfect Savior, always doing your will. He shared your desires of salvation, never wavering from your plan. Because of our sinful desires, we only deserve to be thrown on some trash heap and forgotten, separated from your memory. This punishment is the justice we deserve. Instead, you sent your Son to suffer that separation from you; he suffered the penalty for all our sins. Through faith, we are delivered into your kingdom. As you sent Jesus, he sent the Spirit to create our trust in Jesus, so we are restored to your glory. Jesus picked us from the trash pile with all our baggage of sin, wiping us clean, and the Holy Spirit polishes us through faith and sets us apart as holy. Because of your love, we have been adopted into the line of Judah. Jesus redeemed, and the Spirit sanctified us, bringing us back to you and saving me. Through faith, we believe Jesus is the Lord Our Righteousness Amen.

One man’s junk is another man’s treasure. The devil tries to destroy and trash God’s creation, including us, telling us we are worthless. We are God’s crown jewel; through faith, we are pulled from the devil’s trash heap and restored through Jesus’ blood.
