Galatians 4:4-7

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son to be born of a woman, so that he would be born under the law, in order to redeem those under the law, so that we would be adopted as sons. And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts to shout, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son. And if you are a son, then you are also an heir of God through Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We celebrated Jesus’ birth; you sent him at just the perfect time into the world. He came with one plan, and that was to save us from our sins. You knew what we needed. We live in this world inundated by the temptations all around us. After the world has had enough of us, then we are barraged by our own desires. All these things that come at us and our guilt lock us up, and we become imprisoned by our shame. Paul said, “The things I want to do I don’t do and the things I want to do I do.” But this is why you sent your Son to us, to remove the shackles of sin and guilt that bind us. You sent Jesus into this world for all people so that we would be restored back to you. This is why you sent your Son at the perfect time; he was the Savior we needed. Born under the law and living a holy life, he knows all our temptations and credits us with His holiness. Through faith, we receive his gift, and while we are not natural children, his righteousness adopts us into your family. Because of Christ’s work, we get to call you our Father. As your heirs, we have the promise of heaven as our home, and eternal life is ours all because, at the perfect time, you sent your Son to redeem us from all our sins. Amen.
