Romans 6:3

Or do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank you for coming into this world to save us from all our sins. Our salvation came to us because you went to the cross and died for our sins. We should never take this gift for granted. It seems too simple; all we have to do is believe. That is the truth; salvation comes to us in faith in the forgiveness that you paid for our sins by your death. Soo for us to take your love as a license to sin and do whatever we want cheapens the grace you have given us.

In our baptisms, we were baptized into your death; it was there that the forgiveness of sins began. Our baptism restored us back to you by removing that sin. Since we are restored to you, why would we want to chase after what separates us from you? Our baptisms were not just a ritual washing but united us in your fiery baptism of death on the cross and united us in your resurrection. Through our baptisms, we have the washing of regeneration and the renewal of the Holy Spirit. Lord, thank you for this gift you have given to us that we have the assurance of eternal life that comes only through the work you have done. Amen

Pastor Roger Emmons

It is as simple as believing in Jesus that we have life. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection, and the life, whoever believes in me will live, even if he dies.” John 11:25.
