Ephesians 2:17-19

He also came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. So then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Because of your love for us, You sent your Son for all people so that we would have access to you through your Spirit. Our sin separated us from you; it burdens us down and causes our guilt. Without a way to remove our sins, we would carry them around forever. But this is why you sent your Son: to heal those blinded by sin, oppressed by their guilt, and feel captive to their sins. Jesus lived his life without any sin then gave up his life on the cross for all our sins. He credited us with His righteousness and then removed our sins forever, taking all our sins into himself. Jesus has forgiven all our sins, and we receive this gift by believing in Jesus, which your Spirit began in us. Faith comes to us through your word and sacraments. Therefore, the sins that separated us are removed; we have been adopted into your household as saints and heirs of eternal life. Lord, thank you for sending us your Son and Spirit so that eternal life is now ours. Grant us the opportunities to share this good news of forgiveness with others today. Amen.

Access to the Father is delivered to you through faith in the forgiveness of sins Jesus won. For unbelievers of religion, which do you not believe in—the forgiveness of your sins or the love God has for you?
