Psalm 34:18-19

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those whose spirits have been crushed. Many are the troubles of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Sin broke our hearts; thank you for being close to all who are broken. People were united with you at the time of creation; then, our hearts were separated from you after sin entered the world. Now we disappoint others, others disappoint us, and we all disappoint you because we all chase the desires of our flesh. We hurt people; they hurt us; all this causes agony and suffering between one another. Then along with the sin, there is the guilt we carry that crushes our spirit. But you have saved us from our sin and guilt by sending your Son as our Savior; Jesus laid down his life to be the ransom-price for all our sins. As Isaiah said, “By his wounds, we are healed.” We have been delivered from death and damnation through Christ’s suffering and death. And you gave this gift to us through faith; you started in us through your Holy Spirit. You deliver us through faith, nothing complex or challenging, nothing wealth can buy, but through believing in Jesus as our Savior. Father, thank you for being close to us and saving our souls from the pits of hell.

Lord, give us the courage and strength to share this good news with all those around us who do not know you. So that they too may know you are close to them and have saved their spirits. Amen.

Since God has delivered us from our sin problem, he will take care of all our other difficulties, according to his time and goodwill.
