Revelation 5:11-14

And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels who were around the throne and around the living creatures and the elders. Their number was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands upon thousands. With a loud voice, they were saying: Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing. I also heard every creature that is in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever. The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders bowed down and worshipped.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We are given a picture of heaven, with all the angels around the throne. This picture comes as the slain Lamb is the only one worthy to open the scrolls. The Lamb is Jesus; he deserves to be respected because he defeated death for us when he died on the cross and rose from the dead. Because of his defeat, he is worthy of being given all the power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing John described. This is a fantastic picture. Everything in all creation has to recognize Jesus and give praise to him. Everyone and everything realize him as Lord over everything. This reminds me of Paul’s letter to the Philippians. He stated, “at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow,” everything declares Jesus as Lord. Lord, we get to see a glimpse of the inside of heaven and how your plan is completed. Jesus wins! We thank you for the blessings you have given us in completing our salvation. For what Jesus has done, he deserves to be worshipped and glorified. Amen.

When we know how this all comes to an end, it makes the middle more bearable.
