1 Timothy 2:5-6

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for sending your Son to us, saving us from our sins. Jesus is the mediator between you and us; he restored us to you. You demanded perfection, and we are anything but perfect. Because of mankind’s fall into sin, we fail to meet your requirement set for us. Even as believers, we are not immune to sin; we regularly sin. We are saved only through Jesus’ holy life and innocent death; he gave himself up for us all. We can never understand the love you had for us, that Jesus paid our bill in full when he went to Calvary’s cross. Thereon the cross, he gave his testimony of our debt when he called out, “It is finished!” Ransom paid! We can now come to you covered by Jesus’ blood; our sins covered by the crimson flood. He will declare us not guilty on judgment day because we were saved by faith in him, and eternal life will be ours. Let this be our mission to share this message of Jesus our mediator with someone new that they too will believe. Amen.

We have no right to come to God on our own, except that we have Jesus, our high priest, our mediator, who intercedes for us.
