1 Peter 1: 17 – 21

If you call on the Father who judges impartially, according to the work of each person, conduct yourselves during the time of your pilgrimage in reverence, because you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, not with things that pass away, such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like a lamb without blemish or spot. He was chosen before the foundation of the world but revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him, you are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we consider all you have done for us and our salvation, we must show you the proper respect. We were lost in our sin with no hope; that was our empty way of life Peter wrote about. But in your love and mercy, you sent us Jesus, your Son. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice for all our sins, and it was through his holy life and innocent suffering and death he restored us back to you. Lord, you make all these gifts ours through faith. Thank you for not just leaving us whenever we fail and thank you for sending your Son to restore us back to your good grace. Thank you for your plan, which you began from the world’s creation. Forgive me when I fall into temptation, and keep me always in you. Amen
