Psalm 30:4-5
Make music to the Lord, you his favored ones, and give thanks when you remember his holiness, for we spend a moment under his anger, but we enjoy a lifetime in his favor. In the evening, weeping comes to stay through the night, but in the morning, there is rejoicing!
Dear Heavenly Father,
You have made us your favored ones—those who trust you. We have become right with you by faith in Your Son and all he has done. Thank you for all the blessings you have given to us and the song you have placed in our hearts. How can we not sing? Lord, we were lost in our sins, and on our own, we had no hope. All people are accountable for all the evil they think, say, and do in this life; we were under your wrath and condemnation. But Jesus came to this world to become part of the creation like us so that he could live this life in perfect love for you and others. He then credited us with His righteousness, and it is not only for us, but it is for all people. However, that gift is received through faith by all who believe. Faith, your Spirit, began in us through your word. The point of this life is for us to know you and trust the forgiveness you have given us for Jesus’ sake. May we sing a new song of love for what you have done for us. This life we live is fleeting like the night; it goes by quickly, and we will shed many tears. But the new day will dawn as we open our eyes with you in heaven. What a morning that will be! Give us opportunities to share our song of joy—a song of forgiveness and salvation—with someone who does not know you. Amen

Just as the night quickly passes, so does this life; by faith in Jesus, we are saved, and faith comes to us by hearing God’s word. This life is only a moment, but eternal life is for the rest of eternity.
