Isaiah 55:10-11
Just as the rain and the snow come down from the sky and do not return there unless they first water the earth, make it give birth, and cause it to sprout, so that it gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater, in the same way, my word that goes out from my mouth will not return to me empty. Rather, it will accomplish whatever I please, and it will succeed in the purpose for which I sent it.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for giving us weather systems to help us understand how your word is spread. Just as the rain and snow, as they are needed, fall and water the earth. Your word does the same thing in people’s hearts. It is all about the message. Your message for all people is this: “Christ has died, and Christ is risen. In him, there is repentance and forgiveness and not just for one or two sins, but he has blotted out every sin. Repentance and forgiveness are ours through faith that comes to us in your word.” As that word grows in a person’s heart, they want to share that message with others, how Christ died and rose for you and me. It develops, produces faith, forms more seeds of faith, and feeds hungry souls. Lord, your word exactly does what you would have it do even when we become an umbrella for your word and get in the way. Your word still goes to those who need to hear it. Let us dance in the rain of your word today and share that good news—Christ had died, Christ is risen, and your sins are forgiven. May your word accomplish all that you would have it do through us so we might sow in new fields and harvest in ripe fields. Amen.

You cannot control the clouds, and neither can you prevent the spread of God’s word. Instead, God uses the mouths of his believers to share the gift of forgiveness, the hope of salvation, and the promise of eternal life. They are yours through faith alone.
