Psalm 119:130

The doorway to your words lets in light. It gives understanding to the inexperienced.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Jesus said he was the gate to the pen; he called himself the doorway to heaven in other places. He also named himself the light of the world, and John called him the Word; the Word, Jesus, sheds light on all our sins, and this is the understanding. We are all the “inexperienced”; there is no exception; we are all caught up in our sin’s darkness. No one is good, not even one. (Romans 10) We all fall short of your glory and are stranded in sin’s darkness, and each of us is deserving of your eternal punishment. When we realize our place, it is not to make us downhearted but to see we need our Savior. The light not only shows us our sins, but it also shows how we have forgiveness for our every sin. Jesus came into this world to pay for our sin’s punishment and give us repentance and forgiveness. He took our sins into himself as he was hung on Calvary’s cross. The light enveloped the darkness, and Jesus let that light come into the world; we have been redeemed and restored to you through his work. We pray that you would create a new heart in each of us today, as we have the understanding not only of our sins but also of your love and forgiveness. Due to our faith in Jesus which your Spirit began, please give us the courage to share salvation’s good news with those around us. Let us share with others the light coming through the doorway so that they will know of Jesus’ repentance and forgiveness. Amen.

Remember, the light will always consume darkness. The light only stops if the door is closed or the light is shut off.
