Psalm 103:1-5
Bless the Lord, O my soul. All that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits—who pardons all your guilt, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with mercy and compassion, who satisfies your life with goodness, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
Dear Heavenly Father,
As David wrote in this Psalm, we bless you with every part of our being for all you have done for us. Lord, when we were lost in our sin, you established a plan of salvation to restore us to you. You sent your Son to be the sacrifice for all our sins; through his suffering and death, you pulled us out of the pit and gave us life. Jesus’ innocent suffering and death pardoned our sins. We were healed from the disease of sin. You are our great physician that heals our physical bodies when we suffer along this journey. When our bodies finally wear out and rest in the grave, you will restore them on judgment day as Job said, “As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives and that at the end of time he will stand over the dust. Then, even after my skin has been destroyed, nevertheless, in my own flesh, I will see God. I myself will see him. My own eyes will see him, and not as a stranger.” So we have life through faith, knowing what Jesus has done, and trusting in His work. You have given us the crown of life in our salvation. We can soar like eagles with peace that only comes from you. So please send your Holy Spirit to us to strengthen our faith through your word. So we will hold fast to you and be unafraid to share the good news and blessings given to us with others who have not heard. Lord, we bless you for all the great things you have done. Amen.
