1 Corinthians 10:13
No testing has overtaken you except ordinary testing. But God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tested beyond your ability, but when he tests you, he will also bring about the outcome that you are able to bear it.
Dear Heavenly Father,
For your faithful people, those who believe and trust in you, we see the blessing of your limitation. You allow us to have adversity and troubles come our way; in these challenges, we turn to you, and you are with us. We might be like Paul and ask that it be taken away; sometimes, it is removed, and other times you allow it to remain. And while we might wonder, can this get any worse? We have to remember your promise: you give us only what we can handle. Through trouble, we reach out and depend on you to get us through those tests. Lord, we must remember you are faithful to us and have seen us through an even more significant problem, sin. When sin came into the world, you had promised a savior to overcome the world’s offenses, and you delivered. You sent your one and only Son, Jesus. He defeated sin, death, and the devil on the cross, so we have eternal life through faith in Christ. So you brought about our salvation through his suffering and death. In the end, you bring about salvation to those who remain faithful to you. We will continue to be tested while we are on this side of heaven, but we must remember it strengthens us. We thank you for the tests you allow to come at us, and we pray for your hand to be with us, that you will keep your promise, and it will not be beyond what we can handle. Amen.
