Psalm 69:13

But I direct my prayer to you, O Lord, for a time of favor. God, in the greatness of your mercy, answer me with the certainty of salvation from you.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you with our requests for all we need in life and thanksgiving for all you have done for us. Lord, you rescue us from harm and evil, as David requested in Psalm 69 that you would save him from the flood waters and his enemies. We, too, face those who would like to see our faith’s destruction, and we bring all these requests before you. Our prayers demonstrate our trust in you and how we depend upon you for all our needs.

Moreover, the greatest need we faced was our sin, which condemned us to eternal death, and on our own, we were hopeless. However, Jesus came into this world to save us from all our sins, and for Jesus’ sake, we have salvation through your love and mercy. The gift of life comes to us by believing all that Jesus did for us. He died on the cross to save us from all our sins. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, you have answered our greatest need. So we will also have confidence you will take care of all our other needs and enemies.

We come before you in our petition today, asking you to create opportunities for us to share the good news of your compassion with someone who does not know you. So that they, too, will come to faith and knowledge of your love and mercy. Amen.

Prayer and petition to God demonstrate faith in action that comes from a changed heart. A heart the Holy Spirit has restored because Christ died for all your sins.
