1 Corinthians 10:12-13
So let him who thinks he stands be careful that he does not fall. No testing has overtaken you except ordinary testing. But God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tested beyond your ability, but when he tests you, he will also bring about the outcome that you are able to bear it.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being faithful to us and limiting what comes our way. Paul warns us that we should never become overconfident or prideful in our faith, of having faith in our faith—becoming so overconfident that we would ever do such and such sin; we are above that. However, as sinners, none of us are above particular sins, and we should never be surprised when we fall. You told us in your word, “we have all sinned and fallen short of your glory.” So when we sin, we need to turn to you and focus our faith on your Son and the forgiveness Jesus has won for us.
You have given us your commandments to show us how we are to love you and others. In your word and commandments, our sins are brought to light, and we realize the need we all have for a Savior. When we fall into sin, we know Jesus has died for those sins, and we turn to you with repentant hearts asking for forgiveness. We can be confident you will not test beyond what we can handle. You remain faithful to us when we fall into the temptation of our sins, and you have already forgiven us; this does not give us a license to sin but assures us of the pardon Jesus won for us on the cross. In our testing, you will also bring about your desired outcome, which is for us to depend entirely upon you for our salvation. Amen

Know that God is faithful. He has already demonstrated his love; he sent his Son to the cross to forgive all your sins. When we fall into the temptation of sin, he is ready and waiting for us with His forgiveness.
