Psalm 24:1-2
The earth is the Lord’s and everything that fills it, the world and all who live in it, because he founded it on the seas, and he established it on the rivers.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Everything is yours, and we are managers of all you have put into our possession. You have given us our gifts even though we are undeserving of them. You have provided each of us with our talents making each of us unique from one another. Forgive us when we lose sight of what these gifts are for, sharing your love and mercy with others and giving you glory. Too often, these gifts are considered ours to make this life more comfortable, and we fail to see that this life is not all there is. You have restored us through your Son, Jesus. He died on the cross for all our sins, especially those sins when we abuse your gifts. Forgive us when we think this world is ours, and our talents are something we have achieved; all these things are not ours but yours. So let us use your gifts to help others along the way, for us to share the good news of salvation with those who do not know you yet. Lord, you formed the earth, and nothing in it came from us. Grant us opportunities to share with those around us. Amen.
