Psalm 139:23-24

Investigate me, God, and know my heart. Test me and know my troubled thoughts. See if there is any way in me that causes pain, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Dear Heavenly Father,

You know our every thought, how all our sinful desires tempt us; nothing escapes you; you also see every time we fall into those temptations. On our own, who could stand up to sin? When we fall into sin’s temptation, those sins affect us in different ways. We feel guilt for what we think, say, and do; we also suffer relationship challenges because of our sins. We cannot hide our sins from you; you know our every misdeed and every pain and suffering we face. Thank you for sending your Son to bring us salvation; he is the way that leads to eternal life. He lived the perfect life for us, and his holiness is credited to us. Then he suffered the punishment for our sins on the cross and defeated death for us, so we have life. Through your Holy Spirit, you have brought us faith which leads us in the way to everlasting life; through faith in Jesus, we are restored to you. So we are thankful that as you search our hearts, you see Jesus’ righteousness. Please keep us always close to you and never let us fall. Amen.
