Psalm 25:4-5
Make known to me your ways, O Lord. Teach me your paths. Make me walk in your truth and teach me, because you are the God who saves me. In you, I hope all day long.
Dear Heavenly Father,
True wisdom only comes through you; it is in knowing your ways. This knowledge is not something we can acquire on our own but only through faith in you. Your Holy Spirit teaches us what we need through your Word and sacraments so we can be restored. It is you who saved us, and our hope is in you. You sent us your Son because we were dead in our iniquities; he went to the cross to suffer our punishment, then gave up his life to pay the wage of our sin—death. With Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, we have the sure hope that we, too, will rise from the dead. It is you who has saved us through the life-giving blood of your Son and the sanctifying work of your Spirit. Because of faith, you see us through your Son’s perfection. Thank you for not just leaving us as we deserve but teaching us your ways. Lord, we pray for your forgiveness that comes to us for Jesus’ sake, strengthen our faith and restore according to your Spirit. Then grant us the opportunity to share the good news of your ways with someone who does not know you. Amen.

God’s way was to restore you to him. He sent his Son to die in your place and forgive all the sins that separated you from him. His Spirit works in your heart to know and believe what Jesus has done; with your sins removed, you are restored to him. All this is out of his love and mercy.
