Romans 3:28

For we conclude that a person is justified by faith without the works of the law.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your perfect plan of salvation, sending us your Son, and giving us your word, which tells us how we have been declared not guilty. The declaration comes from nothing we have done. For on our own, we sin often and a lot, and because of our sins, we should not even be able to approach you, our Holy God. You removed our sins through Jesus; he willingly came to this earth as part of your created order; became a person like us. He lived a perfect life without sin, which we could not do, so we are credited with Jesus’ perfection. You planned to take our sins away through Jesus; he willingly suffered and died on Calvary’s Cross to redeem us from our sins; Jesus rose from the dead to defeat death for us. Lord, you also sent us your Holy Spirit to believe and trust the forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life Jesus won for us. By believing in Jesus, your Spirit has removed our sins forever, and we are renewed in holiness. You see us through Jesus’ righteousness, and we have been declared not guilty of all our sins. Lord, you have done every bit of the work of our salvation to restore us to the holiness our first parents once had. We pray that you will keep us always in saving faith. Amen.

Salvation does not come through anything we have done; it is all a gift from God. Jesus died for all your sins, so you have eternal life through him.
