Revelation 7:13-17

One of the elders spoke to me and said, “These people dressed in white robes, who are they, and where did they come from?” And I answered him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me: These are the ones who are coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Because of this, they are in front of the throne of God, and they serve him day and night in his temple. He who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. They will never be hungry or thirsty ever again. The sun will never beat upon them, nor will any scorching heat, for the Lamb at the center of the throne, will be their shepherd. He will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Dear Heavenly Father,

It is not hidden from you what is happening around us on earth. So many ask, “what do you think God is thinking about the world’s state?” You knew and showed this to John, who recorded what would happen. The world is filled with sin, and it frustrates all your creation. So many people reject you, but as John recorded, others have come out of the great tribulation; you know who each one is. Jesus told us you and the angels rejoice for each sinner who repents. Those who have faith in their Savior have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb; you give them respite from their suffering. Lord, strengthen my faith, knowing Jesus has suffered and died for all my sins. Send me your Holy Spirit to increase my trust in Jesus, so through faith, I can cling to you and never reject you or Jesus’ forgiveness he won for me when he suffered and died on the cross. Secure me so I, too, will be in that crowd worshipping the Lamb at the center of the throne. Grant me opportunities to share the gospel with those that do not know Christ so they can be plucked from that great tribulation and reside with you for eternity in front of your throne. Amen.

God is completely aware of everything that is happening. Trust in him, and he will carry you through whatever may come your way. But, should the world end, by faith in Jesus and his forgiveness for you, you have nothing to worry about; you will have eternal life.
