2 Corinthians 5:14-15
For the love of Christ compels us, because we came to this conclusion: One died for all; therefore, all died. And he died for all, so that those who live would no longer live for themselves but for him, who died in their place and was raised again.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Forgive us when we think this life is all about us, when our thoughts are, “am I comfortable enough?” “Do I have all that I want?” Let your love compel us to not focus on ourselves but on you and others. So we realize that by your grace and mercy, we have forgiveness for all our sins, including our selfishness. It is in your selflessness that you love us. You came down to earth to become like us; you suffered and died on that cursed tree for us. You suffered our punishment of sin so that we also died to sin. Your death covered the payment for our every sin. Because there was nothing we could do on our own to overcome sin, and this is why you took all the world’s iniquities into yourself. So we no longer live for ourselves but for you. Give us the courage to share this good news of your love, mercy, and forgiveness with those we meet today. By sharing this good news, they, too, would have faith in you. So that they would also know they are raised to eternal life and salvation through you. Amen.

Realize why Jesus came to the earth so that your sins would be forgiven and you would be restored to the Father. It is ours through faith in Jesus; his death brought you life.
