Psalm 90: 1 – 2

Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from eternity to eternity, you are God.

Dear Heavenly Father,

When we consider you, your ways, and your creation, we know what you have revealed to us in your word is all our finite minds can understand. We cannot even grasp what eternity means, but we know you are still there. To comprehend you completely would go beyond all human understanding. Before you created the universe, with time, space, and matter, you were there. All that is around us was an order you provided. However, sin destroyed that, and despite sin’s chaos, you still provide us with a dwelling place. As Moses wrote, you were here before you formed the world and will be here after it is gone. Because you loved us, you sent your Son, who suffered in our place on the cross, to establish our forgiveness because you want us to be with you in heaven. Through Jesus, you provide us with the way we are made right with you, which comes to us through faith that your Holy Spirit begins in us. Through your love and mercy, we will live with you into eternity. Grant us your peace knowing, trusting, and believing in you. Thank you for restoring us by faith in Jesus; if it is your goodwill, make opportunities for us to share your love and you, our dwelling place, with others. Amen.

We brought nothing to God’s creation because he made and established it for us. So that we will rest with him in heaven, he sent his Son Jesus to remove your every sin. Through faith, you rest securely with God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
