Isaiah 35:3-4

Strengthen the weak hands, and make the shaky knees steady. Tell those who have a fearful heart: Be strong. Do not be afraid. Look! Your God will come with vengeance. With God’s own retribution, he will come and save you.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please strengthen us, send us your Holy Spirit that in faith we have confidence in your salvational plan; with it, we do not need to be afraid. Our sins should terrify us because they drive us further and further away from you; the guilt and shame we have for the things we have done or those things others have done to us can make us weak and unsteady. The plan to save us was to send your Son; he suffered upon the cross for our sins, and his death removed our every sin. So that whoever believes in Jesus, their sins are gone and restored to you. The divide sin created is removed, and with forgiveness comes your renewal; we no longer have to feel the guilt or the shame for those sins because Jesus took them into himself. Your vengeance for our every defiant thought, word, or action was delivered upon Christ when he went to the cross. Jesus suffered your retribution, so we are saved through faith in Him. So please send us your Holy Spirit to give us confident hope; we are saved by Jesus’ holy life and innocent death because our sins are removed.

Please afford us opportunities to share this good news of our restoration and salvation with someone who does not know you. So that they, too, will trust your love and mercy, knowing you have already brought your vengeance on Jesus for our sake. Amen.
