Titus 2: 14
He gave himself for us, to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people who are his own chosen people, eager to do good works.
Dear Lord Jesus,
We thank you for coming to us that first Christmas; prepare our hearts as we anticipate celebrating your birth. Without your sacrifice, we would have no peace, joy, or hope this Christmas. You gave up heaven to be with us, to live and die with us; it was through your holy life and innocent death which you redeemed us. We were trapped in our sins—our lawlessness—with no way out, so you came; Lord, thank you. We pray that you will forgive us today for all the evil, loveless things we have thought, said, and done; please remove all our sins. We thank you for sending us your Holy Spirit to start the faith in our hearts; please create a clean heart within us that knows and trusts you as our Savior. We are your chosen people through faith—by trusting that our sins are removed, we are restored to our heavenly Father. So now, out of love for what you have done, may we love those around us who do not know you; let us share your love and mercy with them so they, too, can prepare new hearts this Christmas. Amen.

Jesus came to suffer and die for you; to remove your sins; so that by faith alone, believing in Jesus, your sins are removed, you are saved, and heaven is your new home.
