Psalm 56:3-4
On the day when I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God I praise his word. In God I trust. I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?
Dear Heavenly Father,
We pray for your hand of protection today; let us trust in you for all we need. Satan wants nothing more than to shred us to pieces, and he uses the world and those who hate you to come after us. However, you limit him in this life and use what he does for our good. Just as Satan tried to divert Christ and thought that our salvation would be lost by killing Jesus on the cross. Instead, Jesus’ death defeated the devil and crushed death for us. Jesus’ innocent suffering and death removed all our sins. As Paul wrote, “death, where is your victory?” We will have fears as we travel through this wilderness, but we have your promise to be with those who trust in you. So we come to you with everything which might cause us to be afraid, and we lay it at the feet of our Savior. He has already defeated our greatest adversary, Satan. So holding to you in faith, there is nothing those around us can do to us that can undo your love or Jesus’ forgiveness. So forgive us when we doubt and have fears, and send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen our faith that we will never stop trusting in you, our God. Please provide us with openings for those around us who are afraid that we might tell them of our hope in you that makes us unafraid of the world around us. Amen.

For those who seem powerful, our gut reaction might be fear; however, what do you have to fear when your God is the One who created them and has already saved you? God is more powerful than anything in this, his creation, and he has your back.
