Psalm 103:11-12
Yes, as high as the heavens are above the earth, so powerful is his mercy toward those who fear him. As distant as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our rebellious acts from us.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We were stuck in our sins with no way out, but through your wisdom and love, you have provided a way out of sin’s trap. Your salvational plan was for your Son to become part of your creation, and he remained without sin. He lived the perfect life in our place and then willingly allowed himself to go to the cross to suffer and die in our place for our sins. Jesus’ forgiveness is for all who believe in him and know he has forgiven all their sins. Your mercy is this: you do not give us what we deserve, which is eternal suffering and death; instead, you give us what we do not deserve, which is eternal life with you in heaven. All this comes to us by faith because Jesus took our sins with him on the cross, and by believing, they are removed as far as the east is from the west. So the things we have done in our past, there is no longer a need to allow that guilt and shame to trouble us because you have forgiven us for Jesus’ sake. So we say thank you for the forgiveness that you have given us. We also pray for those who do not know your mercy and forgiveness, that your Holy Spirit would work in their hearts, that they would trust in the work Jesus did for them on the cross, and that their sins would be removed. Amen.

When you think about God’s love and mercy for people, it can be overwhelming to think about how great it is and what he did to make salvation possible.
