Luke 13:29-30

People will come from east and west, from north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God. And note this: Some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Your kingdom of heaven is unlocked to all people through the forgiveness you won on the cross for everyone, and it comes to each person by faith in your saving work. No one is limited if they are not of the correct family or do not live in the right region; as you said, they will come from all directions. For all who believe in you, we will recline at the table of the kingdom of God. All come in by knowing and trusting in you.

As you told the people, the last will be first, meaning those not of Abraham’s bloodline will also come into your kingdom by receiving your love, mercy, and forgiveness. On the other hand, some were of Abraham’s lineage, who should have been first in line to come into your kingdom, but because they rejected you, they are last, and heaven is closed to them. As you also stated, the doorway is narrow and open for those who trust and believe in your life-saving work—your holy life, innocent suffering, and death on the cross for all our sins.

We pray that you would strengthen our faith and trust in you, that we know you have forgiven all our sins, and that we have a place to recline at your table. Send us your Spirit and give us the courage to share the good news of your love and forgiveness with those who do not know you so that your Spirit will work in them. Please give them a place to recline at your banquet. Amen.

Having a seat at the table, you cannot buy or work for it; you only get it by faith, trusting that Jesus suffered and died for you on the cross, and he has removed all your sins. Stop rejecting Jesus, and know your Savior who loves you and wants you in heaven with him.
