Colossians 3:1-4
Therefore, because you were raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Be with us today and send us your Holy Spirit so that we set our minds on heavenly things. Lord, we can so be engrossed in the things of this world that we fail to see what is most important; we hustle around chasing after the things we must do to get our day done, and we fail to take care of our faith. So we ask that you forgive us all our sins for Jesus’ sake; please remove our sins, and strengthen our faith in Him. Jesus suffered the punishment for our sins, dying on the cross for us, and since he was raised on the third day, we have the confidence that we, too, will be raised. While we live on this earth, we have your protection through Christ, our Savior; Satan is powerless over us, and we are hidden in Jesus. So that by trusting in Christ, all your gifts of forgiveness, eternal life, and salvation are ours so that on the last day, we will be raised to everlasting life to be with you for the rest of eternity.
We also pray for those around us who do not know you; guide our words to them that we share our salvation through faith in Jesus. So they, too, will set their minds on things above, knowing and trusting their Lord and Savior, and have everlasting life. Amen.
