Psalm 16:8
I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We give you glory and honor for all you have done for us. At times we have struggled with events that have overwhelmed and shaken us to our core. But David reminds us that you are always before us for those who trust you. You give us comfort in your word. We have the peace of restoration knowing you have overcome our most significant challenge of sin. You sent your Son to suffer on the cross in our place that by believing in Jesus, we have the gift and blessing of salvation. The punishment that was upon us you placed on his shoulders, and Jesus willingly went to the cross so we no longer have to fear death. Just as Jesus died and rose, we, too, have a confident hope knowing we will be with you at our temporal death, and on the last day, this body will be glorified and raised to eternal life. Send us your Spirit to strengthen our faith so we are confident in you. So when the world rattles around us with all its chaos and sadness, we can be sure that you are at our right hand, giving us all the strength we need to sustain ourselves.
We pray also to share this gift of your strength—how you are at our right hand when the world assails us—with those who do not know you. So they, too, can have the sure hope of you being with them in all circumstances, more importantly, that you have already undone their most significant challenge of sin, and they can be restored to you and your grace and mercy through faith, trusting in Jesus’ forgiveness. Amen.

When the power of the one who created the universe is with you, in front of you, and at your right side, he will see you through every challenge you face. That does not mean there will be no challenges, but it means he walks you through them.
