Isaiah 55:10-11
Just as the rain and the snow come down from the sky and do not return there unless they first water the earth, make it give birth, and cause it to sprout, so that it gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater, in the same way my word that goes out from my mouth will not return to me empty. Rather, it will accomplish whatever I please, and it will succeed in the purpose for which I sent it.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You for all the ways You care for us with Your Word. Just as You send out precipitation and it goes out as You send it, it accomplishes what you would have it do. As a person hears Your Word, seeds are planted, giving birth to a new life of faith. It is Your will for people to listen to your word, move from their heads to receive it in their hearts, believe it, and have confidence in what You have said.
You have made entrance into heaven volunteer, so no one is forced to believe in you, but by trusting, you make sure your word is given to them. Not one believer will be left out of heaven because they did not have the chance to hear your word. So we ask that today, your salvational plan, the forgiveness Jesus won for us on the cross, will go out to many who may not yet know you. We ask that Your Word get sent out to make a difference in others’ hearts so they will know and trust in Your Son Jesus. Use us as Your servants to share the good news of forgiveness and eternal life with all around us so that in our sharing of Your Word, it will do exactly what you desire. Amen.
