Psalm 36:7-9

How precious is your mercy, O God! So, all people find refuge in the shadow of your wings. They are satisfied by the rich food of your house. You let them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life. In your light, we see light.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for your grace and mercy. You demonstrate your love for us by not giving us what we deserve and, instead, giving us what we do not deserve. This life can be challenging and complicated enough with the unrest in the world, sickness, disease, and disasters; then we add in the things we have done, said, or thought—our sins—and we need to find relief.

You provided for us the removal of all our sins through Your salvational plan in Jesus. Jesus removed all our sins by His suffering and death on the cross; forgiveness is ours by faith in Him. By faith, we have the sure hope of heaven, knowing that all our sins have been removed. You provide us with all we need to sustain our souls until we reach our heavenly home. That darkness of sin has been removed, and we remain in your light of forgiveness.

We need Your protection with all that is happening in this chaotic world. We remember that You did not bring sin into the world that was done by Satan and our first parents rebelling against You. While You are not the author of sin or the chaos that comes with it, you limit it. You watch over those who believe in You, and should our temporal life be taken from us, You will take us to heaven because of the faith You started in us through Your Holy Spirit. Let us share this good news of Your protection, heavenly meal, and light with those still standing in sin’s darkness so that they, too, will know and trust in Jesus as their Savior and have eternal life. Amen.
