2 Corinthians 5:14-15
For the love of Christ compels us, because we came to this conclusion: One died for all; therefore, all died. And he died for all, so that those who live would no longer live for themselves but for him, who died in their place and was raised again.
Dear Lord Jesus,
When we think about being compelled to do something, it is often in a negative way, like when our friends pressured us into doing something that got us in trouble or when we talked someone else into doing something. You are our Lord and Savior, and as our friend, you compel us in a more excellent way to do something we would not normally do. Our sinful nature wants to reject Your love and do those things with our earthly friends that get us in trouble. But by faith, knowing what you have done for us all that has changed our way of thinking.
Out of Your love for us, You willingly gave up Your life so that we would have forgiveness for all the times we have sinned against You and others, following the sinful desires of our hearts. We should each suffer eternal death for our sins, but we have been forgiven because of Your love for us. The Holy Spirit gives us the confidence in faith to trust in You. Your love for us, going to the cross to suffer and die for us while we were still your enemies, was a tremendous act of love for us, which compels us to love you in return. It also causes us to live a new way out of love toward you and others.
May we live godly lives that honor You for the love You have shown us. Please give us the courage that only comes through faith to share the good news about your innocent death with those who do not know You so they will be compelled to love You in return and have eternal life through faith in You. Amen.

Since Christ died and rose for your sins, know and trust that because Jesus forgave your sins when your life comes to its close, that is only temporary. By faith in Jesus, heaven will be your eternal permanent home.
