Psalm 34:18-19

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those whose spirits have been crushed. Many are the troubles of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We like to put on a good face for those near us. However, You know precisely what is happening below the surface. All people, including the righteous, face doubts, fears, sadness, and those things that would draw us away from You and towards things we should not do or have. Our sins and life cause us to be brokenhearted.

We pray that You will save us according to Your promise. Please forgive us all our sins for Jesus’ sake; He suffered our punishment upon the cross so that we have salvation and eternal life. The suffering we endure in life is pale compared to what Jesus endured. Our misery does not come from You but from the world, Satan, and ourselves, yet You limit what comes our way, and in our suffering, we turn to You for relief.

Because we believe and trust in You does not mean hardships will cease; instead, we have You to turn to during all life’s storms. You have promised to deliver us, and You have already delivered us in Your salvational plan, so we cling to You no matter what this life sends at us.

We ask that You guide the words we use to tell others how You have saved us through Your Son, Jesus. Let us share the good news of Your delivery so others will also believe and trust in Him and be delivered from all their suffering to live with You forever. Amen.

When your sins have crushed and made you feel the weight of their guilt, know that Jesus has lifted all your sins into himself. He has forgiven and redeemed you so that you are delivered to eternal life and salvation by faith in Him.
