John 6:47-51

Amen, Amen, I tell you: The one who believes in me has eternal life. “I am the Bread of Life. Your fathers ate manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that anyone may eat it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats this bread, he will live forever. The bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

Dear Lord Jesus,

Please feed us with Your living bread. For those who ask why Christians believe in You, it is because You have promised us immortality after this life has ended. So that we are united with You in eternal life, this gift of life comes to everyone who believes and trusts in You.

We live in this sinful world, and everyone is plagued with sin. There is no hope on our own, and those who reject You are like those people who ate manna in the wilderness; because of their unbelief, they have suffered permanent death and are separated from You for eternity. They were Your chosen people whom You rescued from Egypt; many of them rejected You and died that permanent death.

Faith makes all the difference; You feed us through Your Word to confidently trust that You have suffered and died for us on the cross for all our sins and that You have defeated sin, death, and the Devil. As our faith is fed on Your Word, we trust in Your promises of eternal life. It was Your life, Your flesh, that You willingly gave up on the cross for everyone, but it is only delivered by faith in You.

We pray that we can share the Living Bread with those who do not know You so that they may also feast on You and have salvation; please assure them that all their sins are forgiven so that they will trust in You and have eternal life. Amen.

God loves you so much that He came to this earth to suffer the punishment, which was intended for you so that you would no longer be condemned but be restored to Him and be saved.
