Colossians 1:11-14
You are being strengthened with all power because of his glorious might working in you. Then you will have complete endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. The Father rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Often, we consider ourselves weak because we give in to the temptations that come at us and go along with those desires. After the fact, we wonder, “How did I let myself do that?” The world will also chastise us when we sin as being hypocrites for not remaining faithful to you. The Devil also must get his digs in with a whisper in our ear, “You call yourself a Christian?”
However, we thank You because even when we fail, we have the power of Your glorious might working in us. In our failures, we realize our sins and run back to You, knowing that Jesus suffered the cross for all sins. Your love, grace, and mercy work in us, so we see the power of your forgiveness.
Through faith in Jesus, we receive the forgiveness of sins and are qualified by You to be Your adopted children. So You move us from the darkness of sin into the light of Your Kingdom; all this is ours through faith alone in Jesus because of His innocent suffering and death on the cross. We thank and praise You for allowing Jesus to shed his blood because it has brought us life.
We ask that You allow us to share the good news of salvation with those who do not know You so that they, too, will be moved from darkness into Your holy light and be qualified to remain with You forever into eternity. Amen.
