Psalm 118:24
This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Each day is a gift from you, and today is another day of grace that we get to spend watching the works of your hands in our lives. Thank You for keeping and sustaining our planet, watching over all people, and providing all that we need in this life and, more importantly, in eternal life.
You are consistent in everything you do, from regulating galaxies to our planet. The earth still takes 24 hours to spin on its axis and 365 days to revolve around the sun. We have oxygen, water, food, and, let’s not forget, gravity. You have established and regulated the earth’s systems so consistently that we expect everything to happen as it did in the previous moment. We often don’t even think about how you care for us.
Yet, every moment is a blessing for us, giving us more time to spend with those around us, and it is our time of grace. For each person, You have provided a specific number of moments in their life for them to come to know and trust You. To learn of Your love for each person; how when our sins condemned and separated us from You, You established Your salvational plan to restore us to You.
Your Son delivered forgiveness to the world so that those who know, trust, and believe in his holy life, innocent death, and glorious resurrection will be saved. It is a time to rejoice in You for our salvation.
Let us share our joy and peace with those who don’t believe or trust in You. Allow Your word to enter their hearts so that they, too, will have faith and, by faith, have the forgiveness Jesus won for them so that they will be saved and have eternal life.
Lord, what shall this day bring to us that you do not have control? Nothing! You are always with us no matter what may come our way; we hold on to you through adversity and troubles. Thank you for the blessings you have given us on this new day. Let us give thanks for the great things You have done for us. Amen.
