Revelation 21:1-4
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, because the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. And the sea no longer existed. And I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And from the throne, I heard a loud voice that said, “Look! God’s dwelling is with people. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them, and he will be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain, because the former things have passed away.”
Dear Heavenly Father,
Looking around us, we find it hard to imagine our lives after Jesus’ second coming. Our bodies will be raised as holy, perfect, and incorruptible; heaven and earth, as we see it, will also be resurrected as perfect and once again provide for our every need without the corruption of sin and death.
We will be united with you; not only will we know you, but you will live with us, and heaven and earth will be one. There will be no more sin, sorrow, or pain. You will remove every tear.
This new heaven and earth come to us as we trust in you through faith in your Son. Knowing that Jesus suffered and died for us on the cross to remove all our sins restores us now in this life. When this life is done, we will enjoy a perfect heavenly life.
Forgive us for Jesus’ sake and create new hearts in all who believe in Him. Through Jesus, we have a new heavenly home and peace being restored to you. Let us share our peace in you with those who do not trust you; please begin faith in them so they will be in heaven. Amen.
